Elizabeth Drummy qualified as a Registered General Nurse from Liverpool John Moores University in 1999.

Elizabeth is registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, The Royal College of Nursing and is an Advanced member of BABCIM. Elizabeth is currently studying towards her Masters in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Case Management at the University of Birmingham.

Elizabeth initially worked within Orthopaedic medicine, specialising in Trauma Care. She gained experience nursing patients with spinal, head, and other orthopaedic injuries. Her role included the delivery of a holistic, planned regime of care.

After 18 months, Elizabeth commenced employment with the Accident and Emergency Department. This involved accurate assessment and acute management of patients including those who have sustained severe head trauma, extensive burns and complex injuries. Elizabeth was involved in the training and supervision of junior nursing and medical staff. She gained experience in liaising with various members of the Multidisciplinary Team, including community based practitioners.

In 2006, Elizabeth became an Operational Manager (nights) for the Out of Hours GP Service. During this time she was responsible for the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Individualised Care Plans. She liaised with community based practitioners to ensure delivery of care. Elizabeth also developed organisational policies and procedures within the organisation.

Elizabeth has been working as a full time case manager for Tania Brown Limited since June 2007. During this time, she has managed a large number of complex cases for children and adults with Acquired Brain Injuries, Spinal Cord Injuries and complex orthopaedic injuries, in addition to life limiting conditions and palliative care needs.

Elizabeth has been actively involved with the safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children. She has been a member of the Multi Disciplinary Team during Care Proceedings, Child Protection Planning and Adult Strategy Meetings. She has actively supported clients through these processes, assisting them with their engagement with associated professionals.

Elizabeth has developed an interest in the clinical presentations of psychiatric and forensic conditions secondary to a Traumatic Brain Injury, ensuring that external agencies meet the needs of her clients whilst working within civil and criminal legislation. In addition to this, she has also developed an interest in working with clients who have experience with alcohol and substance misuse pre and post injury, facilitating positive lifestyle changes and reduction in use with the assistance from neuropsychological services.

In 2016, due to Elizabeth’s extensive knowledge and experience in safeguarding and protecting both vulnerable young people and adults, Elizabeth was promoted to the Safeguarding Lead role at Tania Brown Ltd.

Elizabeth continues to develop professional relationships with legal, medical and social care practitioners in order to ensure that her clients and their family members experience a smooth rehabilitation process and maintain positive gains throughout.
