Lynne qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1998.

She began her career working for NHS Fife on a rotational post, covering three distinct areas of an individual’s potential journey through the health service – acute medicine/neurological admissions, in-patient rehabilitation and day hospital. This provided Lynne with invaluable experience in the assessment and treatment of a variety of medical and neurological conditions, goal setting, health promotion, education and admission prevention.

In 2000, Lynne secured a promoted post at Liberton Hospital, NHS Lothian. During her time there, Lynne was responsible for the development of a dedicated Occupational Therapy service to the medical admissions unit. Using additional funding to pilot the service, she was involved in role promotion, developing documentation and guidelines for good practice, service evaluation and presentation of data. As a direct result of the pilot outcomes, funding was secured for a permanent post within the unit.

Following this, in 2001 Lynne moved to Astley Ainslie Hospital, NHS Lothian where she worked to the current time as part of a neurological rehabilitation outpatient team as a specialist Occupational Therapist.
