We have extensive experience of providing supervision for your clinical staff, care staff and administrative staff.
When working with clients with complex needs and their families we have found the recruitment and retention of staff to be the one issue that caused the most problems.
It is often daunting for clients and their family members to become new employers. We are here to help you through the red tape and regulations involved in all of this.
We will work closely with you or a member of your family and you will be involved in the recruitment process throughout if that’s what you want to do.
Our team has experience of preparing an advert and job description and a person specification prior to recruitment. They will help you to prepare a short list of potential candidates to interview, prepare an interview programme and then help you to make a decision on the successful candidate.
Once the candidate has been selected we can help with informing the candidate, agreeing start dates, preparing employment contracts as well as providing relevant training as part of an induction programme, as per the Care Quality Commission requirements.
Our team would then help you to monitor the quality and effectiveness of the service via supervision, appraisals, clinical audit and personal independence payments.
We are also able to provide a full payroll service for our clients which includes the verifying and processing of timesheets, invoices and the payment of wages, including any entitlement to statutory payments such as sick and maternity pay.
As part of our service to our clients we are also able to provide assistance relating to health & safety legislation compliance including the provision of information, documentation and training regarding the duties and responsibilities of the employer, UK Border Agency and employee under health & safety legislation.
We liaise with the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) that helps our clients make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children. It replaces the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). The Disclosure & Barring Service are responsible for obtaining suitable background and reference checks obtaining criminal record checks on behalf of our clients.
We work with the UK Border Agency to ensure that non-European workers have obtained the right to work in the UK. We undertake the necessary checks of those using a biometric residence permit or accession worker cards to ensure that every worker is legal. We will undertake internet searches and credit checks to ensure no restrictions on their suitability for employment.
TBL has extensive experience of undertaking immediate needs assessments (INAs) under the Rehabilitation Code 2007, for adults and children who have sustained catastrophic injuries of all types including brain injury and spinal cord injury.
One of our experienced team of specialists will visit the individual at their home or other familiar environment and will assess the nature of their injuries both physical and psychological to determine their immediate needs in terms of care, equipment and accommodation. This information will be used to prepare a report which details the costs of the support and services required.

Shadow Case Management is a service we provide to insurers who wish to ensure that case management intervention arranged by the Claimant’s solicitor is providing an efficient and cost effective service.
It is vital to ensure that the case manager is working towards clear goals with progress well documented and utilising all available support services. If this is not the case, the Claimant may well disengage from the rehabilitation process, or may be missing out on invaluable rehabilitation. It is therefore essential for both parties and most importantly, the Claimant, that the case management intervention being implemented is checked and reviewed regularly.
Often it is the role of the care experts brought in to the litigation process to evaluate case management services some way down the line after the initial incident or when case management services have been in place for some time. Valuable time and rehabilitation opportunities are then often lost without such input earlier.
At TBL we can provide clinicians currently working in the field of case management to assist you at various stages throughout the rehabilitation process.
One of our experienced case managers will review the paperwork of the case manager for our insurer clients and prepare a report setting out whether the Claimant is receiving effective and efficient case management. Issues of concern will be identified and recommendations made. The report will then suggest a further review at a time deemed appropriate by the assessor, depending on issues of concern.
